There is a something about being a cab driver that people only know from “Cab Ride Confessions.” Apart from being one of the most dangerous jobs, it is a job where you hear all sorts of things from people you will never see again. More so than the bartender in a hotel. People pass through and impart stories, tell jokes, ask all sorts of questions that they wouldn’t normally ask of anyone else. Or they will give information just for the sake of giving it.
Case in point:
I was told once that if you are female, any time in your life between birth and burial (or cremation) you will be sexually abused in some manner, anywhere from groping to out and out rape. Yes, even at the morgue or funeral home, which has got to be the absolute top of the list of the worst things a person can do. To be honest, I don’t remember the conversation that lead to being told that. I only remember that the speaker was male. For what it’s worth, I do remember that the speaker was not creepy or threatening in any way; he was merely passing along information in a cautionary anecdote.
The TSA has been given the approval to make sexual assault a guarantee. And it will go unpunished.
Are you as disgusted as I am?
