What has America become is not the question. Why is ‘Murica still like this?
JUST TO BE CLEAR… FACTS DON’T CARE ABOUT YOUR FEELINGS GOES BOTH WAYS

First of all, my heartfelt condolences to the families, friends , and communities of those who needlessly lost their lives at the music festival in Houston as they navigate through their grief, disbelief and confusion.
Having said that, yeah, I’m going to politicize this for a minute. I cannot help but think: Texas… again. Have you people forgotten how to be in public? When the headline of “8 dead in Houston” I instinctively finished the sentence “in a mass shooting.” Next, let’s point a finger at the fact that, yet again, this was obviously an issue where money is the ultimate villain. The amount of tickets sold as well as the lack of security and medical personnel to handle such a crowd, all comes down to PROFIT. What did the producers and promoters think would happen with 50,000 people? (See above re: mass shooting)
Not gonna point a finger at the performers – this is not their responsibility. But they, too, have to live with the PTSD and to some extent, survivor’s guilt.
But more than all that, having heard several concertgoers describe the experience of not being able to breathe, the anxiety, the feeling of impending death. Think about that next time you want to make fun of George Floyd. Or condone law enforcement for their use of force against another human being who was doing something just as innocent and ordinary as they were. They were in a situation where they were STANDING, meant to be an enjoyable thing. Some may even say necessary, given how pent up they’ve been with the pandemic. They weren’t profiled and accosted. They weren’t violently thrown to the ground, wondering “what did I do?”
The next time you see a video of an unarmed person dying because of a chokehold or with a knee on their neck, don’t let your first thought be “if they can talk, they can breathe.”

THE TRIAL OF DEREK CHAUVIN FOR THE MURDER OF GEORGE FLOYD – WEEK 1
Firefighter Genevieve Hansen Sets Twitter Ablaze with Chauvin Trial Testimony: ‘She BROUGHT the Fire!’
As we move into week 2 of the trial of Derek Chauvin for the murder of George Floyd, the prosecution will be bringing Minneapolis Police Chief Madaria Arradondo to testify.
This will be an almost unprecedented move as the chief will be testifying against one of his own former officers.
The defense has attempted to put the blame on everyone EXCEPT Chauvin: the crowd, Mr. Floyd’s and intoxication as well as Mr. Floyd’s superhuman strength (how does that even work?). It has been a poorly executed plan against multiple witnesses who were present on scene.

- The Trial Pt. 1
The media is all abuzz with the trial of Derek Chauvin. Social Media is all abuzz with tropes, stereotypes, and attacks on the victim instead of the man who murdered him in front of the whole world. Social media and far right shills and grifters have turned this into the trial of George Floyd.
It seems as though a man’s past is going on trial, as if the things he did out of despair and desperation years ago are reason to impose a death sentence on him one spring day in 2020.
It should be shouted from every media outlet, every outraged person’s mouth
THERE WAS NOTHING GEORGE FLOYD DID ON MAY 25, 2020 THAT WARRANTED A DEATH PENALTY. NO REASONABLE PERSON WOULD BELIEVE THAT. NO MATTER WHAT THIS MAN MAY HAVE DONE IN HIS LIFE WAS NOT REASON TO SQUEEZE THE LIFE OUT OF HIM.
Quite honestly, if I was a juror on this case, the defense has already lost because they are defending the indefensible and putting the victim on trial.
The most disgusting part of what I see is that people are not the least bit silent in their barely covert attemps to cover their racism.
Seems to me the whole world shouted at the top of their lungs their outrage. And yet, because the world needs to change, many are frightened and pushing back as hard as they can against that which MUST be changed. Those who fight change are afraid that if those they have oppressed get any power whatsoever, the empowered oppressed people will unleash karma.
WE SEE YOU Silly White People!! Won’t you feel ashamed when all you get is a good job, a living wage, housing and healthcare???

- So This Happened Volume 1, Issue 1
A mixture of cynicism, sarcasm, righteous outrage and humor
New year, new administration, new endeavors. Welcome to the premier issue of “So That Happened.” Because what else do you do when you can’t work and you you really don’t want to go out into a crazy, mixed up, physically and mentally ill world? You scour the news and social media, looking for some meaning and purpose to your life. What you find there is maddening and ofttimes, wrought with the belly laughs that only come about when you see the absurdity in what others think is serious business. As it is that news travels fast and ridiculousness even faster, who knows how frequently issues will drop. Could be daily, if all hell breaks loose. Or they could post 2, 3 times a week. After all, the news cycle runs 24 hours a day and so does the stupidity that humankind is prone to. We are in a new era where we won’t be waking up to “Oh God, what did he tweet while he was trying to shit out all that fast food this time?” We are beginning to return to normalcy. And normalcy means, “same shilling for oligarchs, same systemic racism, same unequal balance of economic power. Only not so much in your face with it.”
