Did you ever notice that right wing, conservative “christians” don’t ever seem to actually pay attention to the parts of the bible where Jesus is actually a character. They talk about the Old Testament, never talk about what Jesus said and did, and then go onto who God spoke to AFTER Jesus.
I only seem to find myself in christian churches for weddings and funerals. I don’t actually own a bible. The closest thing I have is a little volume called “The Words of Jesus” that belonged to my very christian grandmother. To me, that is the only part of christianity that matters. You know the “heal the sick, feed the hungry” parts.
Author: The Accidental Revolutionary
Doing my part. The Accidental Revolutionary is a blog by a fed up, critically thinking non-elite that spreads a little light to regular people who care about human rights, income equality, and a functioning government for the people by the people. People like me. People like you. Videos, news, memes, and thought provoking pieces to help wake up and shake up. Spread it around.
My goal, when I get out of this hole, is to travel the country, documenting the beauty of the land before it's gone and talking to people, and shedding light on the truly forgotten people and getting their stories. Not the "forgotten people" spoken about in that horror show of the inauguration, who are only forgotten in the sense that they want us to forget about the fact that they are robbing us. I'm talking about the people who have lost their American dream and feel voiceless and powerless.
I could be any one of you. Someone who got caught up chasing the American Dream and now living in what could best be described as the prequel to every post-apocolyptic movie I've ever seen. The Dream died hard back in 2000 and bringing it back to life has been a long and daunting task.
Born too late to be a hippy, I thought I missed my chance. I loved the 60's even if I wasn't old enough to tie my own shoes. Rebellion and revolution have always been in me but I was too scared to rock the boat. Well it seems my chance has come around again.
I've had a lot of time to watch and listen and learn. Unemployment gives one a chance to reflect. The only thing I have left to do is what I always wanted to do.
My main job is to pass along information. Anything else is food for thought.
